REVIEWS
We received terrific reviews with more to come! Here is my favorite quote from this batch; it's from BroadwayWorld:
"...one of the most soul-stirring, beautifully-scored, creatively innovative musicals to have come out of Broadway in the past few years...Some may say that this is "a musical only for young people," which is the exact type of dismissive phrase that the play is trying to warn against. On the contrary, SPRING AWAKENING suggests—as it is sung in the show's final song—to "listen to what's in the heart of a child.""

Orange County Register:
Taylor Trensch is entertaining and persuasive in the role of Moritz...[he] also finds ways to make the character lovable...Jake Epstein's Melchoir is the self-confident alpha dog whose exterior conceals a mass of insecurities. When Wendla draws him into a torture game, Epstein makes the moment seem truly heartrending for his character....Wendla could easily seem like little more than a naïve victim, but Christy Altomare gives her satisfying complexity."

OC Arts and Culture:
"The weight of it all didn’t hit me until it was all over. It’s different from many musicals in the sense that it makes you think–most have you check your brain at the door, which isn’t a bad thing, sometimes it’s nice to just sit and watch fluff, but let it be known this isn’t that–this is a night where you’re going to look back at your own teenage years, whether that was yesterday or 40 years ago, whether it be fond remembrance or relief that they’re over with."

While you guys are in the OC, you should hit up Gypsy Den in Santa Ana. On Monday's and Tuesday's they have open mic night and they have REALLY good food. A lot of vegetarian options too. They also have one in Costa Mesa but they don't do open mic night.

Anonymous, this Friday. We could have posted it today, but thought the Thanksgiving photos were more topical.
