Here it is, guys! Thanks for all your great questions. It's your PROFILE OF THE MONTH with our very own Ernst, aka Ben Moss. Check out this 2 part series with Ben before he departs to Harvard as he exposes some interesting tidbits, including his inner composer at the young age of 15 with "Fantasia on a Theme" piano orchestra. Also, find out what uber movie star Ben is often mistaken for, the onstage in-the-face burp, and Ben's final thoughts on how SA changed his life. Also don't miss out on several SA cast guest appearances as they say hello/goodbye to their beloved cast member. You will be missed Ben!
Video Part # 1
Video Part # 2
Here are the questions Ben answered:
1. Many fans have asked for a Hot Minute Video:
What is your:
full name?
favorite color?
favorite food?
favorite animal?
quirk/ or interesting fact?
favorite city on tour?
favorite musical?
favorite composer or group?
dream role?
2. Lara, Irene, and Ember asked:
How long have you been playing the piano?
How old were you when you composed "Fantasia on a Theme for Piano and Orchestra?"
Do you play any other instruments?
3. This is from Leah, Ariel, Anna, Anonymous, Mallory, Hannah, and Annie:
When and how did you first get involved with theatre and music?
What roles did you play in high school?
4. Anonymous asks: If you could create a scene for Ernst that is not in the script, what would it be and what would you be doing in the scene?
Bradley and Anonymous asks: Has anything ever gone wrong with the Word of Your Body Reprise scene? Any weird audience reactions?
6. Annette, Anonymous and Kaimi asks: What is the craziest/ most memorable interaction you have had with a fan (on or offstage)?
7. If the Spring Awakening Tour cast members were Disney characters, what would they be? For example, I see you as Chip from “Beauty & the Beast” or as Peter Pan :)
Love ya,
Meredith :)
8. Anna from Poland asks: What is the best prank that has been played in the cast? Maya from Arizona adds: Have you ever gone on stage after eating something super gross (anchovies, garlic, etc.) just to freak Andy out? Or vice-versa, anything super delicious or strange (Pop Rocks?)?
We are going to really miss you!
Lina asks: How has Spring Awakening changed your life?
You're gonna be missed by everyone, but all the best for the future!
10. Hannah, Christina, Desiree, Griffin and Nate said:
How are you feeling about the transition from SA to Harvard? What will you miss most, and what are you most excited about? Irene and Alexandra add: Do you plan on being in any plays or other activities at school?
11. Deborah and Grace ask: In ten years, at the Spring Awakening cast reunion, what will your response be to the question, "So Ben, what are you up to these days?"

Extended Run: The Final Chapter
If you havn't already, make sure not to miss the final chapter of Extended Run, the scripted series starring our touring cast..or at least, some alternate dimension of our normally sweet cast members. In this part, Perry uses Blake's "Lost" powers to travel to another dimension to save Sarah's voice, bring Andy back from the dead, and finally hold the talent show.
Thanks to Perry Sherman for his artistry, commitment, and just plain wackiness. We'll miss you, Perry!

REVIEWS:
CHICAGO TRIBUNE “Spring Awakening” is a must-see for anyone interested in the trajectory of the American musical theater. It pulses with life, youth and creativity. ONCHICAGOTHEATRE.COM "The entire cast gives confident, powerful performances--they sing with great passion and skill and they make the characters believable and sympathetic. I found Bashoff, as the bizarre, tortured Moritz, particularly fascinating. I was also terribly amused by Andy Mientus (looking a bit like Draco Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies)--who also has what may be the funniest and creepiest masturbation scene of the contemporary stage."

TIME OUT CHICAGO "The terrific young touring cast gets it just right: For teenagers, whether in 1891 or 2009, all that yearning and churning does feel like life and death. Perhaps never before on stage has that feeling of roiling teen turmoil been better expressed than in the explosive second-act showstopper “Totally Fucked,” with Bill T. Jones’s jittery choreography perfectly capturing agitation and angst, while Kevin Adams’s lighting design rivals the MCA’s Olafur Eliasson show for the city’s best use of fluorescents. Frequently Asked Questions
1. How can I send fan mail to the cast?
If you just want to send a quick note to all the cast members telling them you appreciate their work, you can email us here at totallytruckedblog (at) gmail (dot) com. I will be happy to forward your email to the cast, but to preserve their privacy, it is unlikely they will email you back (I will, though).
You can also send individual performers fan mail and care packages care of the theatre at which we are currently performing or will be performing. Go to the theatre's website (listed above), find their mailing address, write the actor's name as well as "Spring Awakening" and send c/o the theatre. Remember, we are often at these theatres for only a week so make sure to allow for delivery times. It's a better bet to send it to the theatre we will be going to next as they can always hold packages for us until we arrive. Letters received late will not be forwarded to our next location.
2. How Can I Audition for Spring Awakening?
From time to time, we have open calls in larger cities across the US. We will post any additional open calls here. Subscribe if you havn't already to keep informed. In the meantime, we've made it easy for you to submit yourself singing a folk/alternative rock song on video. Go to: http://www.springawakening.com/videoauditionsubmission/ Make sure your submission is less than 500 MB and is one of the accepted formats. Your screen should change and you should get a confirmation that says your submission has been received. Trust us, people are called in this way. Lucas Wells was cast because of an online submission!
3. How Do I Score On Stage Seats?
That is really up to the individual theatres. Most of them won't release the seats until just before performances because they want to make sure the house is sold first. Some do so online, although the ticketing systems they have in place often can't accommodate our unique seats onstage. Most of them are available only at the box office (though you can purchase them for a performance in the future). The Guilty Ones Street Team members have the rights to purchase these seats before the general public. Any seats left over will be released to the box office and may also be purchased as part of rush tickets (discounted, day-of tickets).
4. How Do I Join The Guilty Ones?
The National Guilty Ones Street Team is a way for fans of the show in each of our tour stops to help us spread the word. You will get access to parties, meet and greets, and other special events while meeting new friends who share your passion for the show, all while gaining some valuable marketing experience. You must be at least 15 yrs old. Email your contact info to nationalguiltyones (at) gmail (dot) com.
5. Can I Get Discounts?
From time to time, a theatre may offer us discounts to send out to our fans. We will post any here on the blog. Subscribe now!
6. Who runs this site? This site was created for fans to stay connected with our touring cast and follow their adventures around North America. Ideally, it would be in the voice of the cast members. Unfortunately, our cast members are often too tired or busy to post lengthy blog posts on a regular basis. Company members will contribute a post from time to time and every month we will have a compiled blog post that most every company member will participate in. The other stuff like updates, etc, will be posted by me. My name is Pun. I work for the production, love this show, its cast, and our fans, and I'm so very glad you're here!
