Spring Awakening named "Most Important Musical of the Decade"

Many theatre critics posted their end of the decade wrap ups over the break and Spring Awakening was mentioned frequently in their lists of the best productions of the decade. This is a huge honor for us.

The New York Times called us "the most important musical of the decade": http://www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/theater/03musicals.html?hpw

The Los Angeles Times included us as one of a handful of musicals which "conferred dignity to the art form" during a decade of "bloated" and "generic" tourist attractions:

and Variety provided an excellent summary of the Broadway trends in the last decade, calling us a musical which "broke the mold:"

The National Touring Production picked up a couple of awards over the break. The Denver Post's Ovation Awards named us "Best Touring Production" and gave Taylor Trensch "Best Supporting Actor in a Musical!" YAY!! Christy Altomare and Jake Epstein were also nominated in their categories and ranked high on the audience voter results: http://www.denverpost.com/theater/ci_14103103

Thanks to everyone who voted and for our fans who have made us a success and continue to inspire us.

Please leave a comment below if you'd like to congratulate the cast and crew.
