POUTINE TASTING WITH THE SPRING AWAKENING CAST

Four of our Toronto based-TotallyTrucked readers wrote in suggesting that the cast try a local fast food staple, poutine. What is Poutine, you ask? The quintessential French-Canadian comfort food: french fries with cheese curds smothered in beef gravy! These are served in fast food restaurants throughout Canadian cities (particularly Quebec) and some chains, such as Smoke's Poutinerie, where our cast was steered, serve nothing but!

Steffi D was excited to see how Smoke's compared to her mom's poutine. Will Blake, Matt and Christy share Steffi's obsession? Or will there be an American revolt? Let's go to the video:

Poutine dessert! Both Matt and Blake were inspired! Looks like Poutine is a hit!

Did you catch the photographer in the video? A reporter from the National Post followed our cast as they made this video for you.

Here's an excerpt from the article :

They are an enthusiastic group. They're excited to draw on the blackboard [the opening of Christy's video above], to recognize the back of the Royal Alexandra Theatre from across Adelaide and to show off pictures of their pets (Doyle whips out his iPhone and starts cooing over his "baby," a photogenic little dachsund/terrier cross named Jacob). Mostly, after months of winter in various Midwestern cities, they're excited to be in Toronto, which, according to Altomare, "actually FEELS like a city!"

And today, they're excited to try poutine for the first time, except for Steffi D., who is excited to compare Smoke's poutine to her mom's. (The poutine is a particularly good choice today, as the previous night was their one night off. They all took full advantage of the break, and are in need of the, ah, curative properties of fries and gravy.)

this is a totally off-topic question
but pun,
after each show ends, do you come out of the stagedoor to talk to fans etc? when i watch the show in 2 months i'd love to meet you. :D

if you have the time, pleeeeease tell andy to keep blogging!!

Curious--aw, that's sweet that you would want to meet me. Unfortunately, I don't get to travel with the tour; I'm stuck in the NY office. I miss the days when I could chat with the Guilty I met from Myspace or from street teaming at the Broadway show, but alas, such is life.

Hey Pun,
could you ask the cast what their shirt sizes are?
i'm trying to get some stuff together for them.
the reason why i was asking if i could meet you was because i wanted to get you one too.

pun-
i just read andy mientus's blog and he said he got a call from you and that was one of the reasons he started blogging again! thanks!

Kayla, thanks for responding to Urban's question. Urban, thanks for your comment!

CuriousFan: That's really sweet, Curious, I'm sure they would appreciate it, but I try not to bother them with things like that. I also reject questions for a specific cast member, otherwise I'd be contacting them multiple times every single day and we want to respect their privacy (Any fan letters I receive, however, I will forward to them once month as a digest). As it is, they already do so much to give our fans more access than any other tour or Broadway show. I'm sure it wont be hard for you to just estimate sizes based on what you know (S,M,L).
Hope you understand.

Anonymous: I believe Perry said the next Extended Run is coming out 4/25. Tomorrow!

Rozzie: Ha. You're welcome. We do what we can. My (imaginary) job
description is: 'Keep The Guilty happy!' Haha

one more thing-do you control the totallytrucked youtube channel as well?

Pun said...

Rozzie--It's not really controlled by one person. I have access to it, so do the cast members who are creating the videos.
